Senior Center was established in 1985 to honor Harry E Mayfield,
Director of United Steelworkers of America. The center functions
as an activity center for seniors from Canton and the surrounding
areas, and as a meeting place for various businesses, retiree groups,
and social organizations.
Center provides many unique opportunities that enhance the lives of
seniors, with a focus on life long learning, health and wellness,
friendship and fun. The Center is a place seniors can come and be
welcomed and appreciated while making the retirement years the
best they can be.
Seniors stay active
and connected through a wide variety of activities and events,
including computer classes, fitness programs, social activities, and
educational opportunities. Services such as blood pressure
checks, health screenings, and Medicare counseling are offered
throughout the year and tax preparation
assistance is offered during tax season. Mayfield Senior Center also
